At Nature Heals Counseling, I believe that everyone has the natural potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life through effective counseling.
Hello, my name is Gina Jordan ~ I am a licensed mental health counselor associate in the state of Washington, EMDR trained, and certified in Dancing Mindfulness and EAGALA (equine assisted psychotherapy).
My unique background and creative approach to counseling integrates mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), somatic awareness, nature-based counseling, experiential psychotherapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to therapy that considers the interplay between our entire body, mind, and spirit. Maybe you are already familiar with mindfulness exercises or perhaps you are curious about them? In my practice and therapeutic work with clients, I utilize mindfulness to help loosen the grip of judgment, allowing us to turn toward feelings like guilt, fear, and shame. With compassion, we can then explore what is needed to nurture healing.
Our sessions might include creating found poetry to process feelings of grief and loss, exercising mindfulness-based stress reduction skills, increasing stabilization, and processing trauma through EMDR therapy, or engaging in experiential practices such as pulling weeds in the garden to explore boundary setting.
Through collaborative exploration, my clients are encouraged to bring awareness to their emotions, thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and behaviors while moving towards changes that minimize emotional distress and maximize a sense of harmony and connection.
And then the day came
when the risk to remain
tight in a bud was
more painful than the
risk to bloom.
